Modern UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore is one of my favourite genres. The mixdown is pretty damn good. I feel like the chord progression might be a bit too cliché, I'd change the inversions so it sounds less cliché.

The drop gave me exactly what I craved for in the intro. You did a really good job in having that contrast between the two sections. Nice work!

LumpyDumpyBuuu responds:

thank you very much.

I feel like this could be a 70s punk anthem or something, it really has that kind of vibe to it. But then mixed with Drum N Bass elements. Really interesting!

I would work a bit on the mixdown, it sounds like there's a lot of overlapping elements. Try to build your tracks by fitting every element in it's own frequency range (giving every element it's own place).

In terms of uniqueness, you have a lot to offer. I mean, how often do you hear high shivering strings in a slamming DnB track? Keep it up!

Skybrid responds:

Got it. I'll take your advices, thank you! I really glad you enjoined that, I am doing my best ;)

The overall mixdown sounds a little bit messy, how much did you compress the overall track?
Or maybe you like the sound of it, but then I would add some parallel compression on the elements that you want to be compressed instead of compressing the master.
But if you want to have it loud, I would look into "soft-clipping", which is basically what all the big DnB producers use to get their stuff loud (from what I've learned).

There's a bit of mid frequencies that I'm missing, right now it sounds like it's mostly bass and treble with a scoop in the mids, while this might sound cool on your speakers, there's a lot of sound-systems (phones, mp3-players or hi-fis) that add bass, treble and compression to the sound, so if you're mixing down your track it would be better to keep the sound fairly neutral.

(So I wouldn't go for the hi-fi sound, but for a more neutral sound)

I really like the synths you programmed for this track. I'm a big fan of FM-basslines, what did you use for that?
The overal "flow" of the track is very nice, super catchy. The beat fits perfectly with the rest in the track.
Clearly there's a lot of attention to detail, with all the little fx and sounds in the background. It keeps me engaged. And you're doing this with only one motif essentially, good job!

SilentShadow97 responds:

Compression wise I've compressed (Fruity Limiter) certain instruments/synths separately depending on what I felt needed it and popped a maximizer (Maximus) on the master, maybe I was messing with the mids a little too much. Glad you liked it overall, these are the types of comments that mean a lot to me, thank you! :)

The mixdown sounds a little bit too cluttered it seems and I miss a bit of high end. But great as always. Love the overall energy and texture (orchestral + synths with bouncy beats). I'm glad to see you bringing these out so regularly. I really enjoyed Glorious Morning, back in the day. Keep it up!

Waterflame responds:

Thank you! It might just be me personally. I like high-end a bit less than most people. But im trying to literally get back up there so its generally more even.

Damn

It's hard to vote 0 on something that doesn't suck at all :S

Why hard? :3
Let numbers and their superfluous systems slip away like soap ^^

Nicely composed and mixed!

It's kinda Breakbeat-ish, so I'd put it in Drum N Bass if I was you.

I really like this track,
I sounds like it belongs in a game or something, the beat really reminds me of The Prodigy.
It's also quite danceable.
These delay synths really give the track athmosphere..
The little (acid?) synth sounds like a chase from a movie or something, a car scéne or something.. I don't know..
The (Grossbeat??) effect is really cool, you've gotta know how to use it right, and you know how!
Maybe you should add a little more bass...
Other than that,
Nice work!
